<description>Dear residents of the Lake Norman area, it is true that teh Town of Mooresville is planning to build a wonderful commercial site on Oates Road. But what you may not be aware of is how the backroom deals they are making will negativly impact our community at the expense of the local residents. It seems a sitting member of the Mooresville Planning Board, Mr. Steve McGl;othlin, is the Owner and Developer of these properties. Also, their plans are to raise the tax rate for evy citizen to pay for this $18.6 Million Dollar project. In addition, the local residents will be forced to give up their land, water wells, put the local neighborhood kids at risk with increased traffic, and destroy the quality of life now enjoyed by retired residents, and young families alike. Another point to make, most of the families affected do not live within the cioty limits of Mooresville. Yes, we live in Iredell County, but the city wants our land.

Every land owner and those affected by this project have voiced our opposition to this project, but no one at the Town of Mooresville cares. There is a study which has come out and has been determined it is both inaccurate and incomoplete. The Town Manager, Mr. Hussemann, was quoted to say he did not care, we are moving forward. When we asked to notify the origianl 464 residents who will be affected by this unwanted project, he stated he has not intention of notifing evryone as he does not wish to have another large turn out of angry residents.

Also, this project has been shown to dump even more traffic onto Hay 150 at the Bluefiled/Williamson Road intersection. Is this the traffic plan you wish to see? Do you think it will be better along Hwy 150 with more traffic bottlenecked at an already &quot;Overly Dangerous&quot; intersection?

Contact the elected officials and tel them, you do not want to see young families, elderlyresidents, or the disabled residents pushed from their home in order to make the members of our local governmet wealthier. Remember, this could happen to you as easily as it is happening to those who live here.
