		<description>Yes, I understand the value of pine for the much needed acid so I do use pine bark chips around acid loving plants.  However, we have had hardwood mulch for 5 years and I have not yet found one termite so I am still a fan of using it!</description>

		<description>Being from the north I thought pine needles were wierd at first too, but they serve a purpose. They help to replenish nutrients to our southern clay as they break down. Also, for any house in the south, wood around a home is just an open invitation for termites. Sorry, I&#039;ll take a little extra work of pine needles over bugs eating my house any day.</description>
