Spring is now in full bloom in Lake Norman. Our myriad lush hardwood trees with their many stunning shades of green hug the Lake Norman shoreline and the waterfront homes are peaking out between them to enjoy the gorgeous views of blooming azaleas, Dogwoods, and so many colorful flowering plants.
I am thrilled that THE local expert on plants and wildlife, Christine Lisiewski (who works at my favorite Dearness Gardens Nursery in Huntersville), has provided us with another one of her amazing photographs for this month’s calendar. Christine is constantly on the move around not just North but South Carlolina where she took this photo of migrating American Wood Storks at Huntington Beach State Park. Not only is she the plant buyer at Dearness Gardens but she just recently was picked to design and implement a butterfly garden for The Preserve at Robbins Point and she even teaches classes about butterflies and native gardens. Visit her new blog: Christine’s Beautiful World.
I would also love to use one of your favorite photos depicting life here in Lake Norman. (Optimum size is a landscape photo about 2MB or about 1600 x 1200 pixels). I will give a $25 Gas Card to anyone who provides a photo that I use as one of my monthly calendars. If you’d like to submit a photo or an idea for a future calendar, please send it to:
