Our Lake Norman communities offer an amazing array of festivities and celebrations during the holidays. From small town parades to Christmas bazaars, old fashioned horse-drawn carriages, hot apple cider, carolers, Santa and even a sailboat parade, you will find myriad ways to celebrate your holidays. It is amazing how Santa gets around Lake Norman!

Huntersville kicked off the holidays with the arrival of Santa and their annual tree lighting ceremony this past Saturday, November 12th at Birkdale Village. Sorry I am too late for this one!
Saint Mark’s Christmas Bazaar: November 19th: 11th Annual Saint Mark Christmas Bazaar is this Saturday, November 19, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Saint Mark Catholic. 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 FamilyCenter Free goody bags to the first 500 attendees. Gifts in all price ranges for all ages; $1 adult admission for adults. This year the Town Of Huntersville is combining their annual Christmas Tree Lighting with their A Huntersville Christmas into a three day event on December 2,3 and 4! The official tree lighting is December 2nd at 6/9pm. Festivities continue on the 3rd and 4th including a skating rink and Santa Claus. Breakfast with Santa at Birkdale Village is Saturday, December 10th at 8:30am. The rest of the season visitors of Birkdale Village can enjoy the beautiful displays/decorations and even photos with Santa on Saturdays and Sundays from Noon – 6pm. Mooresville’s Christmas Parade is before Thanksgiving? Yep, it is Tuesday, November 22nd starting at 3:30. It is a long story, but I guess each town around Lake Norman and Charlotte was designated a different week for their parades and Mooresville ended up with the Tuesday before Thanksgiving!
This year is the 72nd Annual Mooresville Christmas Parade. It just keeps getting bigger and better every year yet organizers work hard to make sure it retains its ‘home town’ feel. Entries include floats and performers traveling down Main Street in Historic Downtown Mooresville. These will include marching bands, Scout troops, dance schools, floats and Santa! 12,000 – 15,000 of our local residents come out each year to enjoy the fun so get there early, especially if you want a good spot in the heart of Downtown.
December – Visit “Downtown’s Holiday Light Spectacular” | An orchestrated light show that includes over 115,000 lights set to music. Begins November 27 and runs nightly through late December. On the lawn at Town Hall – 413 N. Main St. Free!
December 2nd, 9th and 16th and 18th – Celebrate the Holidays in Downtown Mooresville |Music, Santa visits, Christmas Tree Lane, Wagon Rides, 75,000 Holiday Light Spectacular & more!! 6pm – 8pm & activities take place on Broad & Main Streets. Loading and unloading for wagon rides takes place at the Christian Mission on Broad Street. Santa visit and wagon ride loading ends promptly at 8pm
December 4 – The 8th Annual Holiday Children’s Party | Join in the fun and don’t forget to dress to impress because Santa and Rudolph will be there to take complimentary photos! From 9am-11am at The Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St. Brought to you by the Town of Mooresville.
